観光記念と絵はがき Souvenirs and Picture Postcards |

観光地では、観光記念の絵はがきが数多く販売されました。周辺の観光地（施設）を集めた「〇〇名勝」「〇〇名所」といった絵はがきセットから、当時の観光ルートを探ることができます。 また、観光地で購入した絵はがきは様々な使われ方をしました。観光地から友人などに送るだけでなく、自分自身の旅の思い出・旅の記録として活用する場合もありました。 ここではまず、今は忘れられてしまった、かつての観光ルートを絵はがきから紹介するとともに、旅の思い出として、絵はがきがどのように活用されていたか、その一端を紹介します。 |

| Picture postcards have become popular as souvenirs of sightseeing trips, often being sold at tourist sites. Collections of postcards featuring famous local places and scenic attractions allow us to retrace the sightseeing routes of the past. Postcards that were bought at tourist sites were not only sent to friends and families of the tourists but also kept as a memento or a travel record for the tourists themselves. Here, we will first follow the forgotten sightseeing routes of the past with the help of the postcards and then unveil some of the ways in which picture postcards were used as private mementoes of the trips. |

昭和はじめ頃 香取市にある香取神宮大鳥居前の参道の様子を伝える絵はがき「官幣大社 香取神宮 大鳥居」。仲見世の一件に「香取名所 美術ヱハガキ販賣所」の看板が見える。観光地では、このようにして絵はがきが販売されていた。 |
