絵はがきに思い出をつめ込んで

Postcards packed full of memories		  
  　絵はがきの中には、パッケージに絵はがきだけでなく、旅先で手に入れた観光ガイドや観光施設の入場券などが入っていることがあります。旅の記念に自分のために購入した絵はがきに、旅先で手に入れた様々なものをつめ込んで、旅の証としたのでしょう。
　下の絵はがきは、昭和１９（１９４４）年8月に周西駅（現：君津駅）から香取神宮を参拝した人物の「香取神宮絵葉書」です。
　絵はがきの袋には、絵はがきだけでなく、周西駅から佐原駅までの鉄道の乗車券、宿泊した旅館の領収書、旅館の箸袋などが一緒に入っていました。		  
  　  
   Tourist guides or tickets to tourist attractions are occasionally found in privately-owned packets of picture postcards together with the postcards. These items must have been packed with the postcards by the travellers and kept as souvenirs.
 The postcards on the right are “Postcards of Katori Jingu Shrine”, which were privately preserved by a person who went on a pilgrimage from Susai Station (the present Kimitsu Station) to Katori Jingu Shrine in August 1944. The packet with the postcards contained a train ticket from Susai to Sawara, a receipt of the inn where the traveller stayed the night and a paper bag of chopsticks from the inn.
