PERMANENT EXHIBITION HALLS

The Museum is divided into several self-contained thematic halls. Wander through them sequentially or directly visit the hall that interests you the most.

NATURAL HISTORY OF THE BOSO PENINSULA

These halls begin by referring to geology, paleontology, and landforms and subsequently shift to biology and ecology. Learn the method of identifying and classifying the fauna and flora of the Boso Peninsula; consequently, enjoy viewing live specimens of typically small animals in the vivarium.

HUMAN HISTORY OF THE BOSO PENINSULA

This hall follows the political, economic, and cultural human history of the Boso Peninsula, from the paleolithic to the modern ages.

INTERACTION BETWEEN NATURE AND HUMAN

This hall focuses on traditional land and resource management practices, demonstrating how beliefs and customs formed the basis for harmonious relationships between people and the natural environment. Other exhibits portray the environmental problems caused by urbanization.

INTERACTIVE DISPLAYS

This room features interactive, hands-on exhibits for our younger visitors. The emphasis is on touch and audio activities. The Children’s Reading Corner offers picture books and natural history titles for young readers.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITION ROOMS
